Automobiles and car horns are pretty much synonymous. In fact, you would be hard pressed to find any motoring vehicle that doesn’t have one. And, as you probably know, the relationship between cars and their horns goes back many years. In fact, it goes back to the very beginning of self-propelled vehicles. Here’s the story.
There could be more classic cars hitting the road soon – cars that look like classics, that is.
The Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act of 2015 was passed last December by Congress as part of The Surface Transportation Reauthorization and Reform Act of 2015. This act allows small companies to produce and sell replicas of classic cars without subjecting them to the expensive safety and emissions tests the major automakers’ vehicles must undergo. Under the new law, registered companies would be allowed to produce and sell up to 325 finished cars in the U.S. each year. Each vehicle would be issued a federal Vehicle Identification Number.
For years the issues has been out of control oil prices to the upside. Domestically that’s been a huge issue as energy independence became a rallying cry as the United States and other Western economies were at the mercy of OPEC and high oil prices.
In an historic development, 195 nations agreed to a framework to reduce carbon emissions and hopefully reduce the warming of the planet. It was a huge win for Barack Obama and others around the world who worked for years to bring this agreement about. Republicans are trashing the agreement, but this progress on climate change may be one of Obama’s most significant accomplishments.
Every time we get a cool day or a lot of snow, it seems like some genius has to chirp about global warming.
